🏅 Huntsman World Senior Games — October

The world's largest annual multi-sport event for athletes 50 and over. Over 30 sports — from track & field to pickleball, swimming to cycling. More than 11,000 participants from 80+ countries have competed since the games began. The entire city gets involved, with events held at venues all across St. George. Opening ceremonies at Greater Zion Stadium are a celebration of active aging and community spirit.

🏃 St. George Marathon — October

Consistently ranked among the top marathons in the United States. This point-to-point course starts in Pine Valley at 5,200 feet and drops 2,600 feet through scenic red rock canyons before finishing in downtown St. George. Known for its fast, net-downhill course, it's a popular Boston qualifier. The race has been running for over 40 years and draws more than 7,000 runners annually.

🚴 IRONMAN 70.3 St. George — Legacy Event

St. George has hosted full-distance IRONMAN racing, the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship (2021-2022), and the IRONMAN 70.3 North American Championship. The May 10, 2025 Intermountain Health IRONMAN 70.3 St. George was announced as the final St. George edition for the foreseeable future. As of July 2026, no next Utah-based IRONMAN event date has been announced, so visitors should treat IRONMAN as a celebrated local sports legacy and watch for future announcements.
